Move, a collection of stunning black-and-white photographs by James Houston, captures the raw energy and emotion of movement. Pushing the human body to its physical limits, Houston creates unique images that go far beyond traditional dance photography.
Over 50 of New York’s leading dancers, from companies such as Paul Taylor, New York City Ballet, Pilobolus, David Parsons, and Alvin Ailey, gave their time to support the project. Included in this impressive lineup was renowned principle dancer Desmond Richardson, who starred alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones in the movie Chicago.
Houston sculpts and directs the dancers’ bodies with his graphic eye, creating powerful photographs that move and inspire.
